Tom studiów poświęconych zagadnieniom epistemologicznym, względnie metodologicznym, związanym z badaniami nad kulturą. Wspólną cechą charakterystyczną jest łączenie teoretycznego namysłu nad kulturą - różnymi jej aspektami i właściwościami, z analizą rozmaitych idei i teorii należących do różnych dyscyplin humanistycznych
W prezentowanym zbiorze podjęto problem podmiotowości obecny w różnych tradycjach filozoficznych i kulturoznawczych. Zagadnienie to badane jest współcześnie przez filozofię umysłu, filozofię języka, cognitive science z odniesieniem do różnych dyscyplin (neuroscience, językoznawstwo, logika, neuropsychologia).
